Young Reporters.
Real Stories. No Limits.

The Kid Reporter is owned and operated by two sisters from Southern California who believe kids deserve a real news source — written by kids who actually live it.

Meet the Owners

Sarai
Co-Owner & Editor-in-Chief · Age 8
Sarai — Co-Owner and Editor-in-Chief of The Kid Reporter
Sarai is the driving force behind The Kid Reporter. At 8 years old she already knows what makes a great story — and she is not afraid to chase it. When she is not chasing down headlines, you will find her on the softball diamond, where she brings the same intensity to the field that she brings to the newsroom. Sarai covers technology, science, and anything that makes her ask "but why?" She believes every kid deserves to know what is happening in the world — explained in a way that actually makes sense.

Co-Owner & Community Reporter · Age 5
Alani — Co-Owner and Community Reporter of The Kid Reporter
Do not let the age fool you — Alani is one of the boldest voices on the team. At 5 years old she is already learning what it means to own a business, tell a story, and stand behind your work. She covers community news and the things that matter to the youngest readers. On weekends you will catch her on the softball field, proving that age is just a number when you have heart. Alani's superpower is asking the questions adults forget to ask — and she writes them down.

How We Publish

Sarai and Alani update the paper weekly — and more often when news breaks. The live ticker at the top of every page pulls the latest kids' tech and science headlines around the clock so there is always something fresh to read, even between story drops. Big news? Expect a same-day post. That is the promise.

Our Mission

The Kid Reporter started with one simple idea: kids have important things to say, and the world should hear them. Sarai and Alani built this platform themselves — not for a school project, but as a real digital publication they own and run.

They cover real news in tech, science, community, and sports. They fact-check their work. They write stories they actually care about. And they do it all from Southern California with big ambitions and even bigger bylines.

The goal is to grow — more stories, more topics, more readers — and to show every kid watching that you do not have to wait to grow up to start something great.

What We Stand For

  • Real stories, real voices. Every article is written by a kid — no ghostwriting, no filler.
  • Accuracy first. If we report it, we checked it. No rumors, no clout-chasing.
  • Kid-focused journalism. Stories that matter to young readers — science, tech, sports, and community.
  • Entrepreneurship in action. Running a paper is a business. Sarai and Alani are learning both sides.
  • No age limit on ambition. 5 and 8 years old. Owners of a publication. It is already happening.
